The Web is Weird

I rarely go to youtube, but popped in to upload some new videos and found that one of Geoff's pieces has gone ballistic. Last time I looked, we had a giggle over the comments - people HATE it, because the title is Mooring (Drawing Water). I guess they think it's going to be a lesson in drawing water - you know, with a pencil. It has inspired some real angst! But what is even stranger is that last time I looked, it had had maybe 600 views. Now it's over 20,000 !!!!

ON THE ROAD

As we hurtle through space there is plenty of time for contemplation and to try to make sense of the journey that has led us to this point.

Unlike the trajectory of the journey we are taking, all planned out and set out with a map to follow, a life's journey accretes - and becomes a map you can't refold. You don't know where you were heading until you arrive.

So, this journey, as we play our songs over and over again, I am going to try to write down all the emotional meaning they carry and to tell the story of the five years it took to make the record.

It's a story, of joy, near death, a divorce, ecstatic moments, my mother's dementia, a heatwave, threats of violence, tears, reconciliation, silence, and a suicide all wind up in the final mix.
