The Byron rehearsal tapes

This is the end result of many months of practice leading up to the Byron gig. Pretty tight.


According to songwriter Des Wade:
"a huge leap forward from your previous recordings - that practising has really firmed up (bedded down?) your sound giving it so much resonance and authority - it sounds like you're singing from the belly - it always was from the heart - and the whole level of expression has gone up considerably. I'm not surprised it went over well at Byron, given the edge that playing live would have contributed. The relationship between yours and Annette's playing is most sympathetic and complementary and your duo has a lovely 'authentic' sound."
